ERC and European Projects

Engage the public with your research

Nowadays it is broadly accepted that dissemination, communication and outreach are fundamental parts of every scientific endeavor.

The European Union states that beneficiaries of Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020 funding must carry out activities to increase the impact of their project results, and that dissemination to civil society is a requirement in the grant agreement.

At VIS we love to produce dissemination videos on the most fascinating and state-of-the-art research topics, explaining science and bringing knowledge to a broad public.

Our team of scientists, communicators, artists, media producers, guarantees that science topics are explained in a clear, rigorous and fun way to the public.

This is the way!

A high quality video is a great way for a research group to raise awareness of scientific achievements to the broad public in accordance with EU guidelines, and to keep a snapshot of an important phase in research activity and personal life for a scientist.
We provide diverse technical solutions (animation, live footage, interviews, infographics) and visual languages depending on the scientific topic and on the specific target.

Case Histories

The documentary The Quest for Dark Gravity explains the science and daily activity of the research group funded by ERC Project GRAMS, led by Prof. Enrico Barausse in SISSA.
With a mix of animations and live action, the viewer gets into the fascinating and challenging topic of modified gravity.

Our short movie Pulsars: a Tale of Cosmic Clocks, conceived by Dr. Nanda Rea (ICE-CSIC, IEEC), and funded by the COST Action PHAROS and ERC Project MAGNESIA (P.I. Nanda Rea), has won the Raw Science Film Festival and the Ciencia en Acciòn Award in 2022.
